Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how StudyBoost (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account and contact data: When you register or sign in, we collect information such as your email address, display name, and profile details you choose to provide.
  • Authentication: We use Google Firebase Authentication (Firebase Auth) to create and secure your account. Firebase processes certain authentication data according to Google’s policies.
  • Usage and service data: We collect basic usage data needed to operate the Service—for example, how you interact with features, device or browser type, log data, and diagnostic information to improve reliability and security.
  • Content you provide: Information you add to the Service (e.g. courses, tasks, notes, calendar-related data if you connect integrations) is stored and processed to provide the Service.

2. Payments (Stripe)

Paid subscriptions and purchases are processed by our payment partner, Stripe, Inc. Payment information is handled securely by Stripe under their terms and privacy policy.

We do not store full credit or debit card numbers, CVV codes, or complete payment credentials on our servers. Stripe may provide us with limited information (such as the last four digits of a card, brand, expiration, subscription status, and transaction identifiers) to confirm payments and manage your subscription.

Subscriptions and refunds: Fees for paid plans are generally non-refundable. If you cancel, you typically keep access until the end of your current billing period; we do not refund unused time or partial periods, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate users and secure accounts
  • To process subscriptions and communicate about billing
  • To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations
  • To analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve the product

4. Sharing of information

We share information with service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including Firebase (Google) for authentication and hosting/backend infrastructure, and Stripe for payments. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements and safeguards.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger), subject to applicable law.

5. Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You may update account information in the app where available, or contact us using the details below. You may also revoke optional integrations (e.g. calendar) through your account or the third-party provider’s settings.

7. International transfers

We may process data in countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.

10. Contact

For privacy-related questions, contact us at the support or contact method provided in the StudyBoost app or on our website.
