Terms of Service
Last updated: March 8, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StudyBoost (the “Service”), operated by StudyBoost / Boost Lab (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
StudyBoost provides productivity and study-planning tools. Features may change over time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You may not share your account in a way that violates these Terms. Authentication may be provided through Google Firebase Authentication and other methods we enable.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Recurring subscriptions: Paid plans may renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis until you cancel through the mechanism provided at purchase (e.g. Stripe Customer Portal or in-app instructions) or as required by applicable law.
- Payment processing: Payments are processed by Stripe. You agree to Stripe’s terms and privacy practices for payment transactions. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Price changes: We may change fees with advance notice where required. Continued use after a change may constitute acceptance of new pricing where permitted.
4. Refund policy
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or explicitly stated at checkout:
- Subscription fees are generally non-refundable for partial billing periods or after a stated trial period has ended and a charge has occurred.
- If you redeem a promotional or beta access code (or similar) that grants paid features without a separate paid subscription, no refund applies to that promotional access unless we expressly say otherwise.
- If you believe a charge is in error, contact support promptly. Where mandated by consumer protection rules in your region, your statutory rights may apply.
5. Disclaimer — “as is”
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
StudyBoost is a study and organization tool. We do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, grade, exam result, or admission outcome. Your results depend on many factors outside our control. You are solely responsible for how you use the Service and for meeting your academic obligations.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) one hundred (100) USD, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service—for example, by attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfere with infrastructure, scrape in violation of our policies, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including software, branding, and content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or as needed to comply with law. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitations, indemnities) will survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction we designate for disputes, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law. Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance.
12. Contact
For questions about these Terms, use the contact or support method provided in the StudyBoost app or on our website.
